Privacy Policy

Braggsight is an offline powder-diffraction workspace designed to keep source data and analysis records under the user’s control.

Data collection

Braggsight does not collect personal information, laboratory data, diagnostics, analytics, advertising identifiers, usage history, or tracking data. It has no account system, advertising SDK, analytics SDK, or developer-operated cloud service.

Data stored on the device

The app stores imported numerical pattern files, source filenames and fingerprints, specimen names, operator and instrument text, preparation details, notes, analysis settings, excluded peaks, annotations, and project history inside the app container. The local workspace is written atomically and retains one recovery backup.

Imports and exports

Files are imported only after the user invokes Apple’s file picker. When the user builds an evidence bundle, Braggsight creates temporary PDF, CSV, and JSON files on the device. Those files are disclosed only to the destination the user selects through Apple’s share sheet. The selected destination’s privacy terms then apply.

Network access and external links

All analysis, project storage, and report generation work without a network connection. The References screen contains user-initiated links to public NIST and IUCr resources. Opening a link transfers control to the system browser, where the destination website’s privacy policy applies.

Permissions

Braggsight does not request camera, microphone, contacts, photo-library, location, tracking, Bluetooth, motion, or health-data permission.

Retention and deletion

Users can delete individual runs while retaining at least one active workspace. Removing the app deletes app-container records according to the operating system’s normal behavior. Copies exported to another app or service must be deleted from that destination separately.

Children

Braggsight is a technical laboratory recordkeeping tool and does not knowingly collect information from children or any other user.
